- You have NO IDEA *WHY* or how the primate came to be at this zoo, do you? Many zoos get their animals from rescue/orphan centers, where left to their natural habitat the animal would likely have died. Go check out Orangutan Island. ALL of the orangutans are rescued from likely death.
